NYU FLORENCE

I will be participating in this awesome symposium at NYU Florence. Some sessions are available to live stream. Check it out. Such great work is being done here. A big shout out to Jennifer Zoble of NYU’s Liberal Studies who organized this amazing and important event. She is also responsible for creating a much needed and appreciated minor in translation studies at NYU. Everything is Translation!

Alfabeti del Corpo: Gender, Translation, and Activism
, a two-day symposium at NYU Florence exploring intersections of feminism, abolition, and translation studies, is fast approaching on April 18 and 19. We’ve assembled a program of panels, workshops, and salons with wonderful scholars and practitioners from NYU and beyond.

Three of our symposium sessions will be hybrid, so please consider joining us on Zoom:

Keynote with Mónica de la Torre – April 18

(Register here)

Salon with symposium participants and students from NYU Florence and NYU NY reading/performing their creative work – April 18

(Register here)

Keynote with Vera Gheno – April 19

(Register here)

The complete program can be found on our web page. All sessions are free and open to the public, and they’ll be recorded and eventually posted on the NYU Florence YouTube channel.

Alfabeti del Corpo: Gender, Translation, and Activism is hosted by NYU Florence and sponsored by the Minor in Translation Studies. We gratefully acknowledge the generous support of NYU’s Office of Global Programs; Global Research Initiatives, Office of the Provost; Liberal Studies; and the Department of Comparative Literature.
