Please join Princeton Public Library in welcoming Laura McPhee, author of Silence So Deep It Rings.
The photographer and writer discusses her new book, “Silence So Deep It Rings,” in a multimedia presentation, followed by a conversation with her sister, author Jenny McPhee.
Spanning Nevada, Utah and portions of California, Idaho, Oregon and Wyoming, “Silence So Deep It Rings: A Desert Chronicle” explores the landscapes of the Great Basin and the Basin and Range Province as well as the profound changes they have undergone. Using a large-format camera, renowned landscape photographer Laura McPhee examines the beauty and fragility of the American West, considering how people live within a changing climate and the lasting effects of settlement, resource extraction and other human activity on the land.
